A crowd of around 500 individuals, made out of a healthy mix of Filipino restaurateurs, trade industry members, members of the local government, and aspiring culinarians, gathered together last November 27, 2016 at the Tent at Avenue Plaza Hotel for DINE Philippines – Naga Camsur 2016!
During the 2-day event, a powerhouse cast of chefs, culinarians, and farmers, namely, Chef Myke “Tatung” Sarthou of Agos, Ige Ramos of Republic of Taste Food Network, Gerardo Jimenez of Malipayon Farms, and Jairus Ferrer of iFarm, Inc. – Pronic Foods, imparted ideas about food and menu design creativity and also discussed the profitability of starting a farm business in the Philippines.
The event also showcased its very first cooking showdown between chefs for Metro Manila and Camarines Sur. Chef Louise Mabulo of Culinary Lounge, Chef Doy Sto. Domingo of Doy’s and Grissini, Lyceum Chef Instructor Heinz Pelayo, and Chef Consultant Datu Shariff Pendatun – all presented traditional cooking techniques; with the main goal of highlighting local Bicol ingredients.
