What will you get if you combine coffee, board games, and passion? We know the answer to that, and we found it in the province of Batangas.
The municipality of Rosario, Batangas is home for the first ever board game-themed cafe in the province. Kapihan: Food and Board Games opened its doors last October 29 with hopes to provide its customer with good food while having a good time.
Because of their passion to contribute to the community by bringing people closer, the owners – Eleanor, 28; Arianne, 28; Anne Clarisse, 25; Jonna, 25; and Rose Anne, 20; decided to put up the cafe to bring together families and friends. Aside from this, their love for coffee, board games, and chilling is another reason that they started the cafe.

The Kapihan: Food and Board Games homey vibe is perfect for catching up with your barkada, dates with the fam, or if you just want to unwind after a stressful day. There are two areas of the cafe where you can stay. If you wish to sit and enjoy a cup of hot coffee with a piece of a perfectly baked cake, you can occupy the tables and chairs which you can see upon entering the cafe. On the other hand, you can slump on the ground with colorful bean bags while enjoying your snacks with the squad on the other side. Think of the former as your quiet place, while the latter as the play pen.
Being a board game cafe, you should not miss out playing. They have card games, board games, and more ranging from the famous UNO Cards to Monopoly Board Games. Try one or two with your family or friends.
Currently, the cafe serves drinks and snack which you can eat while playing. Being natural foodies, the menu is derived from the girls’ choices and served if the dish is good enough. Expect more dishes to be added on their menu soon.
In our visit, we got to try the cafe’s bestsellers and personal favorites. We started off with their Chikadillas which is chicken quesadillas served with salsa, chips, and their white dip. This dish is perfect if you want to feel a little bit of Mexican while chilling.
You don’t need to go to out and buy pizza if you crave for deep-fried potatoes. Kapihan now also serves Mojos partnered with garlic sauce. Eat it while it’s hot.
For Nutella lovers out their, their Nutella Milkshake topped with vanilla ice cream will let you savor the sweetness choco-hazelnut brings. FFA gives this drink five stars!
There are only few cafes where I enjoy green tea. I’m adding Kapihan to that shortlist of mine. Their Iced Green Tea is not too sweet but still gives you the green tea taste in every sip. Do not forget to try this one.
You should also try their Cookie Choco-Crumble and Mocha Frappe. These will be perfect for every board game you will play. Bring along your barkada for one fun-filled day!
What will you get if you combine coffee, board games, and passion? A whole new tambay experience at Kapihan: Food and Board Games! What are you waiting for? Visit them at 2F GM Reyes Bldg., Namunga, Rosario, Batangas, and have a blast.
