When you say Gourmet /ɡɔrˈmeɪ/ it is the cultural ideal associated with the culinary arts of fine food and drink, or haute cuisine, which is characterised by refined, even elaborate preparations and presentations of aesthetically balanced meals of several contrasting, often quite rich courses. The term and its associated practices are usually used positively to describe people of refined taste and passion.
That is why, when people hear the word gourmet, the message that automatically comes to mind are “expensive”, “fine dining” or “luxury eating”.
Established in 2011, the Kanto Freestyle is a collaboration of the Juanta brothers (Vincent and Val), along with their two co-owners: Eugene Clavarall and Ian Ocampo, to create a local-eatery-type but a hotel quality dining experience.
According to Vince wife, Sandz, it was one-fine day at home when he suddenly thought of putting up a business, a restaurant that offers gourmet breakfast with an affordable price.
Apart from the gourmet breakfast, Vincent Juanta, co-owner of Kanto Freestyle opted to hire out-of-school-youth who does not have restaurant experience to be part of the growing family of Kanto Freestyle. The reason was simple, he wanted to hone their skills to become successful in the future.
Just like Chef Norbert Navarro, head chef of the Kanto Freestyle. He may not have proper culinary education but through hardwork and experience, he was able to reach his dream and become one-of-the-best chef at the Mandarin Hotel Shangrila Makati where he met Vince brother Chef Archie Val Juanta.
