Five years ago husband-and-wife Steven and Cristina Imperial Carl decided to go back to the Philippines. Their main reason is to get in touch with Cristina’s roots and introduce them to their kids. But during their visit the couple saw how the food scene in the Philippines has grown. It also amazed them that different dining hubs has already emerged.
The couple both had formal culinary training. According to Steven, he pleasures cooking and hosting dinner parties at home. That’s why they came up with the idea of why not put up their own restaurant, the birth of Grind Bistro.
From a simple burger joint, the couple agreed to make it a full blast bistro, which will feature original dishes served during house parties.
Steven is a former hotel executive chef and food & beverage director. He advocates sourcing organic and sustainable local produce products to support local farmers. In this way, they will not only help the locals but create employment for them as well.
