Summer is here and what fun way to enjoy it than with sipping through fresh smoothies that you can blend right in your own kitchen. Here are some of the nutrient-packed smoothie recipes that you can try at home:
Green Tea Smoothie– rich in fiber, vitamin C and A, folate, Potassium, Calcium, and Magnesium
Ingredients:
1 and ½ cups green tea (strongly brewed)
3 cups white grapes, frozen
2 cups spinach
1 medium-sized ripe avocado
2 tsp. of honey
Preparation:
Combine all the ingredients in a top blender of ninia, and blend until a smooth texture is achieved. Consume immediately. Make 1-2 servings.
Green smoothie– high fiber, packed with vitamins and minerals, infused with health benefits of ginger.
Ingredients:
1 handful spinach leaves
1 handful mint leaves
1 small slice of ginger root
Half slice of banana
Mango chunks or peaches
1 cup water
Preparation:
Combine all the ingredients together in a blender, process until smooth and creamy, serve immediately. Make 1 serving.
Coco-pineapple smoothie- pineapple contains fiber that aids in digestion; it has antioxidants and enzyme that have an anti-inflammatory effect. Coco water cools and refreshes the body.
Ingredients:
2 cups of fresh pineapple sliced into cubes
15ml lime juice
5-8 pieces of cilantro leave
1 cup coconut water
1 cup coconut milk
½ tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation:
Combine all the ingredients together in a blender, process until smooth and creamy, serve immediately. Make 1-2 servings.
B & B smoothie (Banana and Berry). Packed with protein, Vitamins A and C, Folate, Potassium, Calcium and Magnesium.
Ingredients:
1 medium sized banana
1 cup strawberries, hulled
1 cup mango, diced
½ cup low fat milk
¼ tsp vanilla extract
½ cup water
Preparation:
Combine all the ingredients together in a blender, process until smooth and creamy, serve immediately. Make 1-2 servings.
Ginger and Melon Smoothie. Packed with fiber, protein, potassium, and added with natural healing benefits of ginger.
Ingredients:
1 cup chopped melon
1 large peeled kiwi
1 medium sized banana
½ tsp. ginger juice
2 tsp lime juice
4-8 cubes of ice
Preparation:
Put all the ingredients in a blender. Pulse 3-4 times to chop the fruits, and then blend together until a smooth and creamy consistency is achieved. Makes 1-2 servings.
